Truglyde Fast has a fast and predictable absorption rate, and provides wound support upto 7 days and gets absorbed by hydrolysis quicker than polyglycolic acid suture (within 42 – 63 days of implantation).
Due to its rapid loss of tensile strength, Truglyde Fast suture should not be used where extended approximation of tissue under stress is required or where wound support beyond 7 days is required. It should not be used for ligation, and in cardiovascular and neurological tissues.
